More Idea Camp notes #icdc

Idea Camp DC

I missed a couple sessions since my last post but thought I’d pass along a few notes before the closing session.

Several people have also been live blogging the event and I’ll try and track down their blogs to pass along their notes as well.

Idea Sessions #2 In But Not of the Movement(s): How do we fit in the mix? – J. Mark Brinkmoeller (ONE)

may we be a group of people fully involved in God’s mission #icdc #justicefriday

Mark Brinkmoeller with One up now on the #icdc

typically movements have a charismatic leader #icdc i.e. Bono for global poverty

but organizations may not always recognize the movement’s leader

organizations will typically choose leaders by vote or board

members in movements are anyone who cares/shows up. members in orgs are only those who signup/join

is it possible for an organization and a movement to be one in the same? #icdc audience votes 3 ayes.

if you’re an organization – don’t try and play the role of the movement

trump up the efforts and work of other organizations within your movement
